She's Finally Here!

Arriving right on her due date, on January 16th. Leslie came in weighing at an even 8 lbs. and 21 inches long. She is a healthy baby with a bit of brown hair. She looks like Adam and even has his same pouty face he pulls. We will try to get more pictures up in the next few days. We should be home from the hospital tomorrow morning sometime.

Christmas 2008

I didn't take many pictures over the holidays, but we had a great Christmas and New Years and were able to spend some time with both of our families. Mostly we just enjoyed having Josh home a little more and spending time together. Here are a few of the pics from Christmas morning.

Adam's new train table - we had to bribe him to get him to leave the table and open the other presents. He pretty much didn't leave his trains for 3 days.

My new puzzle - mom thought this would be a little hard for me, but I had it put back together all by myself Christmas day. I still love to play with this puzzle and am getting quite good.

Look mom, Bubbles!

So, Saturday night I was giving Adam a bath. I stepped into the living room for a few to talk to Josh. I could hear Adam in the bath playing and knew he was okay - but, yes I probably deserve everything I get for leaving him in the bathroom. I walked back in to check on him, and he had emptied an almost new, 15 oz. bottle of baby shampoo into the tub. The water was yellow, almost orange and he had lots of bubbles to play with. When I walked into the bathroom I was greeted with, "Look mom, bubbles!" He was quite proud of himself. He had a great time giving himself a beard; and I have to say that I am very grateful that it all stayed in the tub!

Holiday Fun!

We bought Adam a little snow shovel today, so he can help Josh shovel the snow. We were at Walmart - and he pushed the snow shovel through the whole store and cleared the aisles for us. Normally, we would have him in the cart, but when entering the store, all carts were gone. I thought we were in for it with such a crowded store and no way to contain him, but we did surprisingly well. The shovel helped keep him occupied - and we only hit a few people as he took some quick turns. :) Adam absolutely loves playing in the snow. I may be biased, but I think he is the most adorable little thing when he is all bundled up.

These are my attempts at getting a picture of a two year old in front of the Christmas tree. Surprisingly, I was able to get a few good ones. But only a couple of shots before he was completely done sitting for me.

We made Gingerbread trains at my parents house for FHE this month. It seemed quite small with Adam and Brielle as the only kids there. We miss you Jason and Theresa. It just seemed a little too quiet. We did have fun. This is the only pic. I have of Adam. He made this facial expression and his "Tada" after every piece of candy he put on. And of course, what is the Christmas season without a visit to Santa Claus. Adam was not happy about sitting on his lap - a little terrified actually. Not even the candy could bribe him to stay on his lap. There was no talking directly to Santa, but when I asked what he wanted Santa to bring him, he said "a surprise". I think Santa should be able to have that one covered.

Bedrooms on a Budget

We have been working on getting Adam's new room finished and the nursery ready for a baby girl. We have been trying to do this as cheaply as possible. We recycled and repainted what we could from the old rooms and I made the curtains in both rooms. I do not claim to have an eye for decorating, let alone the hand to put it together. But, I think our ideas came together nicely. One day we will get new closet doors in place of these old ugly ones. Adam's room looks so grown up compared to his room we just moved him out of. I love the cubby organizer. Adam can easily get to the toys he wants and is beginning to grasp the concept of organizing back into the correct bins to put them away. Here is a peek at the rooms!

Hot New Wheels - or should we say old?

Josh's parents were cleaning out a storage unit and came across this car that belonged to Josh when he was little. Adam immediately became attached and we have had a hard time coaxing him into the house ever since. It came out of storage quite dirty and we haven't had a chancet o clean it yet. Rain or shine (which has been all rain and cold) he is out there in his car. It is so cute to see his little feet push as fast as they can. He will say "bye, mom. See soon". Then he puts his book or other collectibles in the back and heads off down the sidewalk. He will stop at the mail box and check the mail and then continue on to "gammas house". Who knows how far he will go, I always have to turn him around unwillingly to head back to home. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for the great find!

M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E

We had Mickey Mouse at our house this year for Halloween. Adam wasn't sure of what to make of all the costumes, but it sure didn't take him long to figure out that treats were involved.

These pics were taken with cousin Brielle at Grandma and Grandpa's trunk-or-treat. When we first arrived, they both just stared at everyone dressed up - they were trying to figure out what in the world was going on. We could not get them to take their eyes off the characters and look at us for a picture. It was fun to watch their reaction.

"Mom, did you just say there is candy in those cars?" We're out of here.


It was funny to watch them as they started to get candy - Adam still eyed everyone and was very cautious. As soon as Brielle was given some candy she didn't care what they looked like - she went after the candy like crazy. She had over half a basket and Adam had only 6 pieces of candy when we got back to our car. :)

Grandpa gave them some dried fruit leather for their first "treat". We couldn't get them to give it up to take their pictures.


This Halloween stuff can be exhausting!
